Where to look for hope in a world that seems to sink deeper into turmoil each year? What is our role in crafting a better future for ourselves and the world around us? And how can we open our minds and hearts to an uncertain yet deeply transformative future?

These are the topics that we plan to discuss in our final community LEADERSHIP TALK: ADVENTUS.

Our distinguished guest for this talk is Dr. John J. Scherer, founder and president of the Scherer Leadership Center Worldwide.

OUR SPEAKER:

Dr. John J. Scherer is the founder of Scherer Leadership center Worldwide. He is a respected international speaker, consultant, and change facilitator with many of the world’s best-known organizations and their leaders, including Boeing, Ford, GTE, Microsoft, The Government of Canada, Siemens, ALIOR, DHL, Netia, PLAY, Tchibo, and many others. Leaders and change facilitators from 55 countries have graduated from his Executive/Leadership Development Intensives (EDI/LDI).

John was honored by Stephen Covey’s Executive Excellence magazine as one of America’s Top 100 Thought Leaders in Personal/Leadership Development, and he is the recipient of the 2015 Lifetime Achievement Award from the International Organization Development Network.

John is the creator of hundreds of print articles and online media and is the author of Work and the Human Spirit (1993), Five Questions that Change Everything (2008), and the Polish version, Wiser at Work: Five Questions that Change the Way You Lead (2012).

One of the world’s most sought-after experts in leadership and change, John is best known for his ability to connect with people quickly and for bringing about profound individual and system-wide transformations, resulting in the unleashing of the human spirit at work. The father of four ‘amazing young people’, he swims, runs, does yoga, still performs the occasional magic show, and loves a good spy story

2. The concept of Adventus as a future made of something radically new, unexpected and transformative rather than Futurum – the future that is predictable and linear.

4. The role of hope and faith in moving forward through uncertainty.
5. What each of us can do to contribute to facilitating the arrival of a better future for our world.

This event is open to members of THE CEO ELEVATION CIRCLE, all alumni of John Scherer’s Executive/Leadership Development Intensives (EDI/LDI) and our extended networks. WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT DURING OUR LEADERSHIP TALK?

Here is the plan for the event:

1. 17.45 – 18.00: Informal welcome and warm-up.  
2. 18.00 – 18.45: Guided interview and discussion on Adventus – the emerging future.
3. 18.45 – 19.20: Q&A with the audience.
4. 19.20 – 19.30: Wrap-up and invitations to upcoming events. 

 

LOGISTICS

• Our LEADERSHIP TALK takes place virtually, on Zoom.
• You’ll need the app installed on your computer. Using Zoom on a mobile device will significantly reduce your participation experience.
• The virtual doors open at 17:45 CET for informal chit-chat and warm-up.
• The session is recorded. Provided that you register for this event, you’ll have access to the video and audio recording afterward.
• Your full mental and emotional presence is required during the whole event. We invite you to have your camera on throughout to avoid interruptions or multitasking. This is an investment in yourself—respect your time.
• Photos of the virtual room will be taken during the event. By registering, you consent to photography being used later for marketing purposes.
